It’s hard to believe, but this year marks the 20th anniversary of the very first IEEE World Haptics Conference (WHC) back in 2005! With WHC 2025 on the horizon in July, we feel it’s the perfect time to celebrate this important milestone. Let’s reflect on all we’ve achieved together and look ahead to where we’re going next.

Award Session – EuroHaptics Society Best PhD Thesis

Every year, the EuroHaptics Society (EHS) awards a prize for the best PhD thesis of the year. The EuroHaptics Society PhD Award competition is open to all candidates who, in a broad sense, disserted on a topic of relevance to the science and/or technology of Haptics in the year 2024.
In this session, the EuroHaptics Society PhD Award 2024 will be announced. In addition, the winning candidate will give a talk on the topic of her/his thesis in this session.

Award Session – TCH Early Career Award

It is our pleasure to announce the 2025 TCH Early Career Award. With this award, TCH wants to recognize outstanding contributions to the area of haptics by members of our community who are in the earlier stages of their careers.
All members of TCH who are within 10 years of receiving their doctoral degree by 1/1/2025 and are in an untenured or non-permanent position are eligible for the award.
The selection of the awardee has been carried out by an independent committee of experts and the final winner will be presenting his/her work in this session.
